Srinagar: The Jawahar Tunnel on the Srinagar-Jammu highway has been shut down after a heavy avalanche hit the region early Tuesday morning, creating a massive blockade and paralysing civic
movement.
The avalanche hit the North portal of the Kashmir side in Qazigund area of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, rescue operations are underway. There are no reports of casualties yet.
