Susan de RuyterThe West Australian Flexible office spaces are opening up in the city as Victory Offices expands into Perth. The Melbourne-based company has taken the 1100sqm level 17 of the

Exchange Tower at Perth Esplanade for flexible, co-working and collaborative office areas. Victory Offices, which manages 11 centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, chose to add Perth to

its operations with the expectation of rising demand for commercial property as the WA economy recovers. Victory chief executive Dan Baxter said the flexible office industry was growing

rapidly and it was offering premium products Australia-wide, so clients could travel from city to city and still use the same services. The centre opens on June 11 and he said 20 per cent

had been pre-sold. Knight Frank director Ian Edwards added: “Inquiry has been very strong.” Mr Baxter said companies were attracted to pay-as-you-go options that included phone, internet,

mail and secretarial services. They could use hot-desking, co-working and office spaces for just a day or up to a year. JLL’s head of leasing, Nick Van Helden, said the trend for flexible

offices was growing and more operators were likely to follow Victory’s move to Perth. “We understand that serviced offices and co-working providers are doing well, with high occupancy, which

means several others are also looking at Perth at the moment,” he said. Flexible workspace operators could take advantage of fit-out incentives and lock in a good deal, knowing the market

was improving. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM THEWEST.COM.AU IN YOUR INBOX. Sign up for our emails
