It's almost as if the accused men of #MeToo have been plotting their comebacks together in secret. Just days after disgraced comedian Louis C.K. made a controversial surprise return to

a New York City stage, actor Aziz Ansari has announced that he will perform a string of comedy shows in South Carolina and Tennessee in early September. Ansari's tour, titled

"Working Out New Material," will take him to Charleston, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, reports _Pitchfork_. Ansari was accused of sexual misconduct in January after a pseudonymous

woman published a personal account of a date with Ansari at _Babe_. He has largely remained out of the public eye since addressing the accusation shortly after the piece was published,

saying in a statement that he thought his encounter with the woman, "Grace," was consensual. "I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to

process what she had said," wrote Ansari. SUBSCRIBE TO THE WEEK Escape your echo chamber. Get the facts behind the news, plus analysis from multiple perspectives. SUBSCRIBE & SAVE

made an unannounced appearance at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. The comedy landmark is apparently a popular first stop for the accused, seeing as C.K. made his surprise appearance with

a 15-minute set at the comedy club on Aug. 26. Read more about Ansari's upcoming shows at _Pitchfork_. Explore More Speed Reads
