A luxurious new residence at 637 University Drive has been slowly taking shape over the last couple of years and now two show suites have recently opened, allowing the public to get a look

at the unique project and what it has to offer buyers.

The Escala, a project by Meridian Development, sits in one of the most storied neighbourhoods in Saskatoon. Steps away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway Avenue, yet secluded on

University Drive, it offers a mix of apartment-style and townhouse-style condos for those who love the refined life.

The upper floor units will get a magnificent view of the river valley in all its glory. All balconies are finished with tile instead of concrete — just one of many details that makes the

Escala a cut above.

The show suite at 104 is part of the City Homes series, which includes two-storey, ground-floor, townhouse-style condos with access to the streetscape and a tiled, private patio.

“We wanted to bring people out to the street here, because it is an older neighbourhood,” says Meridian president Karl Miller. “If this was an apartment-style condo then typically people

aren’t hanging out there.”

The design allows guests to come in through the condo’s front door. For those who prefer guests to come in through the building, it’s clear from the lobby that every inch of the Escala has

been lavished with style and quality finishes.

Inside, the 104 doesn’t disappoint. Tile floors with in-floor heating, quartz countertops, Miele appliances and high-gloss cabinetry create a sophisticated space. The floor-to-ceiling

windows illuminate the main living area with lots of natural light.

Jordan Boyes, president of Boyes Group Realty, points out that everything in the show suite is finished as it would be in every suite. There’s no extra cost to make it look as luxurious.

Upstairs the two bedrooms are generously portioned with custom-built shelving in closets. All mirrors are backlit and all bathtubs are tiled. The shower in the ensuite is fully tiled with

glass doors and no lip to trip over. The drain is also hidden — just another thoughtful detail.

“Everything is fully finished,” explains Miller. “We’ve put a lot of things in so people don’t have to upgrade. Some of the other buildings that have been built recently, they weren’t to the

level of finish like this and so people have to spend a lot of money upgrading or finishing them. We really wanted to distinguish ourselves.”

Each residence has its own storage unit and comes with two underground parking stalls. One-bedroom condo units have only one underground stall.

The City Homes units range from 1,192- to 1,458-square feet and are priced between $585,500 and $673,500. Apartment-style condo units on upper floors are also available. Possession is

expected in January 2021.

The Escala show suites are open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. To schedule a private viewing, call Boyes at 306-270-9028.
