Chicago-based country punks' latest bundles songs from across their 25-year discography Chicago-based and U.K.-born country-punk rockers Waco Brothers are assembling some of their most
pointed political anthems for the new compilation album _Resist_. Set for release February 28th, the album includes tracks previously unavailable on vinyl in the United States. _Resist_
features songs from across the discography of the Waco Brothers, formed by Mekons leader Jon Langford to focus on more country-oriented music. “Plenty Tough Union Made,” “Bad Times Are
Coming Round Again” and “$ Bill the Cowboy” originally appeared on the band’s 1995 Bloodshot Records debut _To the Last Dead Cowboy_. Other tracks have been pulled from the albums _Cowboy in
Flames_, _Do You Think About Me_, _Electric Waco Chair_, _New Deal_, and _Freedom and Weep_. There’s also a cover of Sonny Curtis’ “I Fought the Law” from the 2005 Bloodshot compilation
_For a Decade of Sin_. _Resist_ will be available on 180-gram red vinyl and digital download, and pre-orders can be placed now via Bloodshot Records. Waco Brothers latest studio album,
_Going Down in History_, was released in 2016, while the Mekons released their latest, _Deserted,_ in 2019. Last week, Langford and the Waco Brothers performed on the fifth annual Outlaw
Country Cruise, where they were joined by reggae legend Lee “Scratch” Perry. _Resist_ track listing: * “Blink of an Eye” * “Lincoln Town Car” * “I Fought the Law” * “Plenty Tough Union Made”
* “Fast Train Down” * “See Willy Fly By” * “No Heart” * “$ Bill the Cowboy” * “Never Real” * “Revolution Blues” * “New Deal Blues” * “Bad Times Are Coming Round Again”
