United pilot slams his own airline after it fails to provide snacks on 4-hour flight: ‘we failed you today’

Customer disservice just _won’t fly_ with this outraged airman.  On a wing and a prayer, a United Airlines pilot did his best to appease peeved passengers who were forced to take a four-hour

flight sans drinks or snacks.  “We have not done you right,” confessed the captain in a viral vid, shared by content creator, Nancy Kaatz.  The heartfelt clip earned over 1 million views

from touched TikTok watchers who applauded the fly-guy, a former United States Air Force pilot, for stepping out of the cockpit, addressing travelers face-to-face and deescalating the sticky

situation with sincerity and sensitivity.  Impressed commenters even vowed to protest United if the kindly cap were to get canned for speaking out against the airline, writing, “If they

pilot of 26 years. “If I were in charge, there would have been a cart full of goodies for you out — at least in the gate area.” He went on to explain to jet-setters that the refreshment-free

ride was an awful effect of a cursory company “switch,” which left their flight lacking treats.  The commander then encouraged trippers to offer feedback to United, letting executives know

“the impact” the airline’s misstep has had on their experiences.  “I also flew in the Air Force — I flew the A10 Warthog. Seven combat tours,” said the plane pro. “I’ve had the opportunity

to put together several teams. I’d like to put together a team today, of you, me and my crew.” “We’re all going to the same place, let’s have a great time doing it,” he continued. “I’m going

to invite you to help me put the ‘friendly’ in the friendly skies. Let’s be kind to each other. Let’s be polite.” He’s a pilot for the people.  And while in-flight food and beverage service

isn’t guaranteed after every takeoff, having something to nibble on during lengthy journeys is extremely important to frequenters of the friendly skies.  Some passengers have become so

peeved about the lack of adequate in-flight refreshments that they’ve started bringing their own culinary carry-on. Chloé Gray, a NYC-based lifestyle influencer, was temporarily stopped by

TSA agents at Newark Liberty International Airport for packing a whole rotisserie chicken in her carry-on bag ahead of a long-haul flight to California.  Luckily for the Big Apple gal, her

poultry made it past security.  “I gotta get my protein in [during] the flight,” said Gray in a virtual brag, toting her chicken from Whole Foods Market. “This is how you give yourself a

first-class experience without paying for first class.”
