A Long Island cop already accused of running high-end brothels has now been indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting two women he met on dating apps — using his badge to gain their trust
before attacking them after their first dates, prosecutors said. George Trimigliozzi, a suspended Suffolk County Police officer and 56-year-old father of two, faces new felony charges of
first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree rape after prosecutors said he assaulted two women after dates in Patchogue and Hampton Bays in 2021 and 2022. “Police officers swear an oath to
protect us,” Suffolk DA Raymond Tierney said in a statement. “These allegations are truly disturbing. I will use my office to protect everyone equally, without fear or favor.” Trimigliozzi,
an 18-year veteran of the force who once earned accolades from the Secret Service, was escorted into a Riverhead courtroom in handcuffs, wearing a gray suit, and pleaded not guilty to the
new charges Wednesday. In the first case, prosecutors said Trimigliozzi met a woman, Jane Doe #1, on a dating site and took her out near Patchogue in May 2021. EXPLORE MORE After the date,
he invited her into his car to talk, but once inside, he allegedly climbed into the passenger seat and began groping her. When she tried to flee, Trimigliozzi allegedly slammed the car door
shut and used his body to block her from leaving. A year later, in June 2022, the cop raped a second woman, Jane Doe #2, after picking her up on his motorcycle and going on a date,
prosecutors alleged. The woman had invited him inside her home following their date because she believed he was too drunk to drive. Trimigliozzi then asked for a tour of her apartment, and
once in her bedroom, he pushed her onto the bed and forced her into non-consensual sex, prosecutors said. Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei set bail at $100,000 bond — half of what
prosecutors had requested — after defense attorney William Keahon argued that his client had already been out on $50,000 bail in his separate prostitution case and made every appearance.
Keahon told the court the indictment was “merely a mechanism to get allegations into this courtroom,” emphasizing that no evidence or witness testimony had been presented yet. “This court
has heard no witnesses testify,” Keahon said. “You see no evidence brought into this court at this point in time.” He described Trimigliozzi as a decorated cop who was named officer of the
month five times and had more arrests in a single year than anyone else in the department. The now-disgraced policeman faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the new charges,
which are considered violent felonies. The allegations are just the latest in a scandal surrounding the veteran officer, who was indicted last year on charges tied to a sprawling
prostitution ring run out of two Long Island locations — including the notorious mob-run “American Girls Spa” on Sunrise Highway. Trimigliozzi and three other alleged co-conspirators —
including a suspended Islip gym teacher and an admitted mob associate — are accused of laundering nearly $2 million in cash from the brothels and forcing sex workers to sign leases for the
use of rooms where they were paid only in tips. The DA’s office said the investigation into Trimigliozzi began in 2021, when he was working an overnight shift in the Third Precinct and
showed up in uniform to a reported robbery at a Holbrook brothel located in the Fifth Precinct, despite having no jurisdiction there. The bizarre breach of jurisdiction raised red flags and
triggered a years-long corruption probe, in which prosecutors allege he was tipped off about the robbery by a worker at the illegal spa. At the time of his arrest in October 2024, Tierney
said the department had already suspended Trimigliozzi without pay over other, non-related misconduct allegations. He’s due back in court Thursday, though that date is expected to be pushed.
Prosecutors said the sex abuse case will proceed alongside the ongoing prostitution and corruption case, where Trimigliozzi faces more than a dozen felony charges — meaning the disgraced
officer could be staring down decades behind bars if convicted in both cases.
