A fashion industry titan is parting ways with a sky-high New York City residence. Giancarlo Giammetti, co-founder of the legendary Valentino fashion house, has listed his Sutton Place-area

penthouse for $17.5 million, according to a Monday release. This price is already set at a loss, since Giammetti purchased the unit back in 2010 for $18.5 million, property records show. 

Giammetti, 83, founded Valentino at age 18 with Valentino Garavani in 1960 — the year they met. Valentino, an Italian fashion house, has long been synonymous with luxury. Its garments have
