Various non-Bodo students’ organisations including the All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU), All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU), All Santhali Students’ Union (ASSU),


All Kalita Students’ Union (AKSU) and BTC Nath Yogi Students’ Union (NYSU)  staged a protest demonstration in front of  the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Udalguri to press for  fulfillment


of their various demands including review of the BTC Accord, 2003 and Sixth Schedule Amendment Act , 2003 on Friday. The activists taking part on the sit-in-demonstration displaying banners


and placards and raised slogans against the move to form a Union Territorial Council (UTC) replacing the existing Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). Ready for a challenge? Click here to


take our quiz and show off your knowledge! The protesting non-Bodo students’  apprehended that a move was on to replace the existing BTC set up  through formation of a UTC. They asserted


that the organisations would never sit idle if the Union Government takes unilateral decision in this case and demanded to review the BTC Accord to know the reality. Later, the organisations


submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India to this effect through the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district. The BTC or Bodo Accord was signed among the now-disbanded Bodo


Liberation Tiger (BLT), Government of India and Assam Government in February, 2003. The ex-BLT leaders later formed a new political party called Bodo People’s Front (BPF) and got elected to
