Patowary said that the BJP led government had in 2018-19 financial year seized 300 trucks carrying illegal coal and arrested 100 people for their involvement in the illegal trade of coal. In
this current month alone, our government has seized 450 cattle bound for smuggling and arrested 55 people for their involvement in the illegal trade,” he said.
Patowary further said that the police have also arrested the kingpin of cattle smuggling Sarfaraj from Golapganj area of Bihar on Sunday and he is being brought to Assam,” Patowary said
adding that several people including government officers have been arrested in the past for their involvement in corruption after the new government took over.
