effect — the expulsion of magnetic fields from the interior of the superconductor. In hydrogen-rich materials at megabar conditions, theory predicts that strong electron–phonon coupling and


high characteristic phonon frequencies could stabilize superconducting condensates up to around 300 K. Following this blueprint, many experiments over the past decade have identified a


number of promising hydride superconductors operating at relatively high temperatures. Yet, evidence of the Meissner effect has been elusive because of the sensitivity limitations of


magnetic sensors at extreme pressures. Owing to similar limitations that resistivity measurements also suffer at such extreme pressure conditions, a convincing proof of the Meissner effect
