erosion and symptoms, but evidence suggests that there is a correlation between dilation of intercellular spaces (DIS) of the esophageal epithelium and the presence of symptoms, in both


erosive esophagitis (EE) and nonerosive esophagitis (NERD). It is not known whether improvement of symptoms in NERD patients following acid-suppressing treatment is associated with a
