High resolution α spectrometry

ABSTRACT DEFICIENCIES in energy resolution have been an obstacle to the widespread application of dielectric track detectors1. The best resolution so far obtained covered a span of only 150

to 200 keV (ref. 2). Now a procedure has been developed which uses the range differences obtained with α particles of diverse emission energies. This procedure provides a substantially
