2024Updated 21:53, 29 Nov 2024 Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has regaled his I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! co-stars with tales of King Charles III visiting the set of his
soap. The current monarch visited the set of the iconic ITV show in December 2000 where he took part in scene as part of Corrie's 40th anniversary live episode. While on the show, the
now King visited the Rovers Return and spoke to cast members, including William Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, Jacqueline Pirie, who plays Linda Baldwin, and Jack P. Shepherd, who plays David
Platt. The then-Prince Charles also shared time on set with late actress Liz Dawn, who played Vera Duckworth on the show at the time. The King was on the set to unveil a plaque in honour of
the TV show's 40th anniversary. Alan, 42, recalled the special moment while sat around the campfire with his I'm A Celeb co-stars. He recalled: “Vera, Liz Dawn, was laid in bed,
she was in a coma during that episode. So you’re told, wait for him to speak and all that. Anyway, he comes walking through studio and Liz is in bed and she went ‘Ere, have you bought me
grapes?’” Article continues belowREAD MORE: I purchased 'the only suitcase I'll ever need' and there's now 30% off the brand for Black Friday Explaining that the now King
Charles was very funny in his response, he shared: “He was really personable, I must admit I was taken back, I was impressed!” The anecdote then prompted the Reverend Richard Coles to
recall a story of his own involving the late Queen Elizabeth II. Recalling being present at the state opening of parliament, he siad “she got all robed up and everything to go into the
chamber”. Explaining how there’s normally a flight of stairs to go up which she couldn’t manage, she got into the lift instead. Explaining how someone pressed the wrong button, meaning
rather than going up to the lords, they went down to the service centre. He went on: “And the door opened there was a woman, a cleaner, stood there with a trolley and she didn’t look up, she
just went ‘budge up’ and walked in and pushed the Queen and Prince Philip to the back of the lift. Then she looked up and went ‘f***ing hell’.” As the campmates exploded into laughter,
Richard added: “And the Queen invited her to tea at Buckingham Palace!” The Reverend went on to share a story about the actor Dominic West - who played Prince Charles in the Netflix smash
The Crown. Article continues below Explaining how Dominic’s wife is a well-known garden designer, she got invited to Clarence House for a reception when Camilla was the Duchess of Cornwall
and Prince Charles was the Prince of Wales. When Dominic asked his wife if he could come too, Richard explained: “She said no because he’d just been cast as Charles in The Crown and it was
that season of The Crown that dealt with Diana and it was all a bit controversial and everything.” Richard said how Dominic promised “to stand at the back and do nothing". However
Richard explained: “Camilla saw him and came over and he went, ‘Oh, good evening your Royal Highness’ and she went, ‘Good evening your Royal Highness’.” _FOLLOW MIRROR CELEBS ON_ _TIKTOK_
