WREXHAM ARE PREPARING FOR A BUSY SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW AHEAD OF PLAYING IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT TERM, AND HAVE BEEN LINKED WITH YET ANOTHER PREMIER LEAGUE STAR 14:03, 29 May 2025Updated
14:07, 29 May 2025 Wrexham are reportedly eyeing a move for yet another England-capped star as they look to compete in the Championship. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have made their
ambition of reaching the Premier League very clear after securing promotion from League One in April. Manager Phil Parkinson is planning for a busy summer transfer window as he looks to
reshape his squad. The Red Dragons have already been linked with several top-flight players with international pedigree, including Newcastle United frontman Callum Wilson and defender Aaron
Cresswell, who's departing West Ham as a free agent. Wrexham are now aiming to pull off an ambitious attempt to sign another Hammers player in Danny Ings, according to the Daily Mail.
The striker, who has made three appearances for his country, is also due to become a free agent after spending two-and-a-half years at the London Stadium. The 32-year-old made his name at
Burnley as a youngster before securing a move to Liverpool in 2015. However, an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury had a major impact on his time at Anfield after a long spell on the
sidelines. Despite eventually falling down the pecking order, Ings was much-loved by then-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. The German manager sang his praises when his departure to Southampton
was announced in 2018. He told the club's official website: "He is such an outstanding boy. Honestly, if you could bottle his character and spirit, his would sell worldwide - he is
so incredibly positive and full of energy. Article continues below "But we won't just miss his character, because he is a footballer who has all the tools. What is clear is that
in his time here he had zero luck really, certainly in my time. "Before joining I tried to watch as many games on tape as I could from the season so far and Danny Ings stood out as
someone I was really looking forward to coaching." Ings enjoyed happier times with Southampton, scoring 46 goals in 100 appearances between 2018 and 2021. He then joined Aston Villa for
a fee reported to be around £25million. He made 52 appearances for Villa and netted 14 times before moving to West Ham in January 2023. Ings has endured a difficult time in east London, not
helped by his injury problems, and he's now seeking a new challenge. The Premier League club confirmed Ings' departure earlier this month, along with those of Cresswell, Lukasz
Fabianski and Vladimir Coufal. Head coach Graham Potter said: "Aaron, Lukasz, Vladimir and Danny have been a pleasure to work with in my time here so far. "[They are] all brilliant
professionals on and off the pitch, with fantastic experience in the Premier League, and clearly loved and admired by their team-mates and everyone here at the club. "We felt it was
important to confirm this news now, out of respect for them and the service they have given to the club, and to allow our supporters to show their appreciation at our final home match of the
season." Watch the new season of Welcome to Wrexham on Disney+ This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Learn more from

might not be any immediate activity at the Racecourse Ground. Parkinson told The Leader: "I know the fans will be eagerly anticipating some signings and things like that but as we know
in the past, we have always tried to be patient and bring in the players we feel are right for the club. "It is a very special club to be part of and we want to bring the lads in that
we feel can enhance what we've already got. As we have always done at this stage of the season, we have some initial meetings with players and agents but it is still very early in the
summer. "We are in dialogue with clubs all the time but that's just an on-going process. We are just trying to build the best squad we can within the budget available to us."
