offers for every player. After sacking 250 staff and stripping iconic former boss Sir Alex Ferguson of his ambassadorial role, Ratcliffe has now trained his sights on United’s overpaid and

under-performing squad. Ratcliffe and his team want to shave around £1million a week off United’s bloated wage bill, to help them comply with profit and sustainability rules (PSR). Against

that backdrop, United have made shifting three players a priority – striker Marcus Rashford, on £325,000-a-week, midfielder Casemiro, on £350,000-a-week, and winger Antony, who earns

£200,000-a-week. Jettisoning that trio, whether on permanent deals or loan moves, would represent a successful window for United, in particular if they were able to sell £45million-rated

Rashford, whose fee, as an academy graduate, would count as pure profit in terms of PSR. But who should United let go and who are those who cannot be sold at any cost as Ruben Amorim builds

his new-look side? With United understood to be open to offers for rising young stars Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho – 19 and 20 respectively – none of the squad can consider

days after Plymouth sacking But while sources claim only a “ridiculous” offer would see United sell Mainoo, with Chelsea linked with a move, the revelation Garnacho – considered one of

United’s most exciting young talents – could be sold shows the ruthless extent of the planned squad overhaul. Those considered untouchable are captain and playmaker Bruno Fernandes, who

signed a new deal in the summer, £59m defender Leny Yoro and wing-back Amad Diallo, who is close to signing a new contract Mainoo would also likely fall into the category providing progress

players who have shown themselves to be unreliable. Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are out of contract this summer and will not be handed new deals, while Luke Shaw’s

ongoing fitness and injury issues could see him sold to make way for a new left wing-back. Rasmus Hojlund, bought a year ago from Atalanta for a vastly inflated fee of £72m, is also in the

shop window, with Amorim looking for a more prolific and reliable No.9 - his former Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres his first-choice target. There is a certain irony in United willing to

listen to offers for virtually their entire squad just days after their best performance under Amorim, a 2-2 draw at arch rivals and Premier League leaders Liverpool, a game they could

easily have won. But even allowing for that encouraging display, Amorim knows he must overhaul his current squad, with only a handful of players unsellable. The rest? If a club meets
