THE BAN ON DISPOSABLE VAPES IS SET TO COME INTO EFFECT ON JUNE 1, WITH A NEW STUDY FINDING A QUARTER OF USERS HAVE STOCKPILED THE PRODUCTS AHEAD OF THE BAN 12:57, 29 May 2025Updated 12:58,
29 May 2025 Ahead of Sunday's ban on disposable vapes, a quarter of vape users have stockpiled supplies. With the ban set to kick in on June 1, a survey of 1,000 adults who use
disposable vapes found they have nine weeks' worth of the soon-to-be banned product stashed away. Over half are 'worried' about the ban, with 38% anxious about potential
withdrawal symptoms. Meanwhile, 42% say they are 'likely' to turn to unregulated black market vapes once disposable options vanish from shops. The study also revealed that 36% are
against the disposable vape ban, while 9% were unaware of it before participating in the research. However, 40% of those surveyed, in the study commissioned by übbs Pouches, support the
move to abolish such products. The research discovered that disposable vape users have been spending an average of £41 a month on the product, using up 13 devices over that period. Since the
announcement of the ban, 47% have tried to cut down their usage before the throw-away devices are permanently removed. But 15% confess they've been 'unsuccessful' in their
attempts. A spokesperson for übbs Pouches stated: "For those who use disposable vapes, there's no getting away from it, they are going to disappear from stores and while many of
those polled have stocked up on supplies in anticipation of the ban, they won't last forever. "For those worried about transitioning away from disposables there are plenty of
alternative options which are regulated – but unregulated options should be avoided." Most of the people surveyed have tried other alternatives to disposable vapes in anticipation of
the ban, including refillable vapes, nicotine gum, nicotine patches, and nicotine pouches. Article continues below The research, conducted by OnePoll, revealed that convenience (61%), a
variety of flavours (53%), and taste (49%) are some of the main reasons why people use disposable vapes. A representative for übbs Pouches commented: "The vast majority of disposable
vape users have taken steps to move away from throw-away options. "With a range of viable substitutes legally available, hopefully the ban won't be too much of a shock for
them."
