MILLIONS OF WORKERS CAN GET ACCESS TO THOUSANDS OF DISCOUNTS THANKS TO THE BLUE LIGHT CARD, AND NOT EVERYONE IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SCHEME. HERE WE EXPLAIN WHAT THE BLUE LIGHT CARD

SCHEME IS, WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR IT, AND WHAT DISCOUNTS YOU CAN GET 09:01, 25 May 2025Updated 09:01, 25 May 2025 Blue Light made headlines this month after the supermarket chain Asda announced

it was scrapping the discount for shoppers in stores. Having first introduced it back in 2023, customers who held a Blue Light Card could get 5% off fresh food, fruit juice, dairy products

and bakery goods at the supermarket chain’s stores. Asda says the move comes as it is now focusing on "providing all our customers with outstanding value every time they visit our

stores or shop with us online". Although the Asda discount it a blow to members, there are thousands of other discounts which are available to them. Millions of workers can get access

to thousands of discounts thanks to the Blue Light Card, and not everyone is taking advantage of the scheme. Here we explain what the Blue Light Card scheme is, who is eligible for it, and

what discounts you can get through it. WHAT IS THE BLUE LIGHT CARD? The Blue Light Card offers exclusive discounts to a range of workers. You can grab discounts on clothes, holidays,

insurance and cars. It can be used across thousands of restaurants, high street shops, online brands and attractions. Overall, Blue Light says there are around 15,000 discounts to choose

from. These can be discounts of 5% up to 25% - some companies offer exact amounts off too. For example, as of writing Blue Light members can get £30 off Easyjet holidays. The Blue Light

scheme costs £4.99 to join for two years. To prove you're eligible for the service, you'll need your work ID or a recent payslip. Registration can also take up to seven days. Due

to the low cost, the card could pay for itself in just a few purchases. READ MORE: Thousands of Brits being sent letters with details of £90 paymentREAD MORE: HSBC customers told to
