Congratulations on getting your work highlighted by Medium Staff on Twitter. I don’t like how Medium can anonymously push a narrative publicly without attaching an individual name to it.

Medium is owned by a man. A woman criticizing her own community is not the same as a member of the dominant culture co-opting that to attack the half of the population that represents the

empathic, progressive, pro-equality, pacifist side of human nature for the most part. And as the ones who are prone to self-criticism, I find that to be a rather cowardly way to interact

with us. Whereas women have traditionally been denied access to the microphone, it is wise to be aware of when and why you suddenly feel motivated to push them center-stage, again yourself

shadowed in the wings, not visible to the audience as the puppet master. If this piece does well, it is going to be very tempting for Valenti to craft more work in a similiar vein and I find

the premise, with its broad generalizations based on a couple traits, as though anyone can be defined about anything based on such narrow and shallow criteria, is short-sighted to say the

least. Aiming at rather low-hanging fruit there, and more likely to alienate would-be allies from the platform and any sense of community. A better place to focus attention and energy is on

ideas that create unity and solidarity, not divisive identity politics.
