podcast, 'The Rest Is Football', which the broadcaster co-hosts alongside footballing legends Alan Shearer and Micah Richards — has found a new home at DAZN following his

high-profile split with the BBC. In a new deal that sees the podcast broadening its content horizons — it will now feature video clips from the Club World Cup as part of an agreement with

DAZN. The British streaming service has the broadcast rights for the freshly formatted FIFA competition taking place in the US this year. His move to DAZN came in the wake of Lineker's

well-documented separation from the BBC, which was precipitated by a social media storm involving a post thought to be about Zionism. Lineker made headlines when he shared an update

including a picture of a rat— an image deeply entwined with historic anti-Semitic connotations. Following his heartfelt apology, Lineker, aged 64, stepped down from his role presenting the

BBC’s coverage of major footballing events such as the 2026 World Cup and the FA Cup for the upcoming season. His final appearance on Match of the Day aired on May 25. Pete Oliver of DAZN
