MAN UTD FACE TOTTENHAM IN THE EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL ON WEDNESDAY WITH A SPOT IN NEXT SEASON'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ON THE LINE. 19:58, 20 May 2025 Bruno Fernandes insists winning the Europa
League final won't gloss over Manchester United's disappointing season, but believes it could transform their future. United head into Wednesday's Bilbao showdown with Spurs
sitting 16th in the Premier League, but victory over Ange Postecoglou's side will earn them a spot in next season's Champions League. That will be transformative to the club's
revenues and will help the club to attract better players in what is the first summer transfer window under Ruben Amorim, and while Fernandes believes the attraction of United is strong to
every player, he knows how vital getting back in the Champions League is. "Every game that you have a chance to win a trophy is very big," said Fernandes. "But apart from
that, every game at this club is massive. As a player we just think of what we have ahead of us and what we have ahead of us is a chance to get our hands on a trophy. "It won't
change the past, but what can affect is the future, obviously winning a competition gives you a lot of things. In this case you get a place in the Champions League, you get a lot of revenue
for the club, you get more players wanting to come to the club. "I think that at this club it doesn't change much in that aspect because I think every player wants to play for Man
United and it's a thing that will never change because the name of this club speaks for itself. "But the main thing for us is to focus on what we have ahead of us, that is a
massive final against a team that we know very well but in a competition that is very different of the Premier League so it's going to be a completely different game." United have
lost 18 of their 37 Premier League games this season, including both fixtures against Tottenham. Spurs also knocked them out of the Carabao Cup at the quarter-final stage. But they could
secure a European trophy in Bilbao and that significant bonus of getting back into the Champions League, with Fernandes keen to see the club return to being successful on a more consistent
basis. "We want to be at the top of everything, not only the Europa League, not only the Premier League, we want to be at the top of the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, everything we are involved,
this club needs to be fighting for everything we have ahead of us," said Fernandes. "Obviously, knowing that it's not always possible to be in the finals, it's not
always possible to be winning trophies, but our aim and our goal has to be always to be until the end of the competitions fighting for the possibility of winning trophies and that's
what we want. "Tomorrow we have a big chance in a competition where our aim since the beginning of the season was being in Bilbao in the final and everything we have to focus on is that
we have a big game, a big final and a big opportunity." --- Here at the Manchester Evening News, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis. Make
