having amazing special effects, a gripping story and one of Cruise’s best performances, Oblivion didn’t blow critics away. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 53% based

on 254 reviews, making it a rare rotten film from the Hollywood icon. The site's critical consensus reads, "Visually striking but thinly scripted, Oblivion benefits greatly from

its strong production values and an excellent performance from Tom Cruise.” Over the years viewers have come to the conclusion that Oblivion is much better than it was given credit for at
