as Ncuti Gatwa's final scenes as the Doctor were aired last night. Gibson, who has played the role of Ruby Sunday, stood beside Gatwa as the timelord's companion as he made his


debut as the 15th Doctor. Following his final moments on the show, Gibson dedicated a heart-warming post to Gatwa, who she called “my Ncuts”, displaying a series of photos of the pair


together both on and off screen on her Instagram account. Alongside the post, she wrote: “Nothing can put into words the experience we’ve shared. I am forever grateful to have been a part of


it and watched you bloom into the fabulous Doctor the world has got to know and adore. “You have made this incredible character even more special with who you are and how good you wear


clothes.” Article continues below She added: “You’re my forever friend and doctor and I’ll be here cheering you on watching you on your further successes with every new companion you meet


along the way. “Thank you for taking me to the stars.” In response to the post, Gatwa called Gibson his "red Ruby" before writing "love you to the moon and back". The


post comes after fans of the show were left shocked by Gatwa's exit as the 15th Doctor last night, with the reveal that a familiar face could be returning to the show in his place. The


ending of the show appeared to suggest that former Doctor Who actress Billie Piper would be taking the place of the next Doctor. Article continues below Piper, 42, starred in the hit show


from 2005 as Rose Tyler as the companion to ninth Doctor, Christopher Eccleston before becoming the companion to the tenth Doctor, David Tennant. The final moments of Gatwa's time as


the Doctor saw him bid farewell to companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu as he said: "I hope you’ll see me again, but not like this."
