Corrie fans 'uncover' return for 'downfall' as star speaks out after heartbreak

IT'S BEEN AN EMOTIONAL TIME IN THE ITV SOAP AS A SPECIAL WEEK OF EPISODES FOLLOWED CRAIG TINKER AND DC KIT GREEN 08:51, 22 May 2025 Coronation Street fans think a return 'has to

happen' in the long-running show as they predict they could be part of a huge 'downfall' in Weatherfield. It's been an emotional time in the ITV soap as a special week of

episodes has been following the stories of both Craig Tinker and DC Kit Green. As viewers now know, Craig tragically died during Wednesday's (May 21) episode after being subject to a

brutal attack by an out-of-control Mick Michaelis, who fans know had a hold over Kit that was revealed during a recent flashback episode. Craig had started the week excitedly heading to

Weatherfield Police Station for his latest placement with CID. He was instructed by DS Lisa Swain to shadow Kit and was eager to get stuck in. But it's fair to say Kit had other things

on his mind, having discovered that Brody Michaelis, the son of his former pal-turned-enemy, could be his biological son. And it could also be fair to say that Kit started a catastrophic

string of events that led to a furious Mick not only violently attacking his wife, Lou, but also hitting Craig with a baseball bat as he tried to arrest him for drink driving, leading to him

suffering fatal injuries. After Mick left him for dead, viewers saw that Maria Windass had found Craig in the precinct before calling for help. She stayed with him and called out as the

ambulance pulled up to the scene. Asha Alahan leapt into action. Sarah Platt then stumbles across the incident and rushes over. She questions what has happened while a shaken Maria is seen

covered in Craig's blood. As he stirs, Craig struggles to explain what happened to Asha and soon after, DS Lisa Swain arrives and is shocked at the severity of his injuries. They wasted

no time in getting Craig to the hospital, where he was joined by Lisa, who promised to stay by his side as she blamed herself for encouraging him to go back on the beat. When Asha returned

to Craig’s bedside at the end of her shift, she agreed to stay with him while Lisa headed back to the station to try and catch his attacker. Later, things appeared positive for Craig when he

woke up and seemed ready to give his colleague, Jess, his official statement. However, he wasn't able to give her the information she needed as his condition suddenly deteriorated,

with the doctors forced to perform CPR. When it became clear that the CPR wasn’t working, Craig was officially declared dead, marking the tragic end of PC Tinker, while Jess, Maria and Kirk

Sutherland watched on with devastation. Now, Corrie fans have made it clear they went Beth Tinker, Craig's mum, to return for her son's farewell, and hope that she could be the one

to bring down Kit after his blackmail triggered her departure from Weatherfield. @LadyCorriedown said: "Beth just HAS to come back now! It would be so unrealistic if she did not return

for her Craig's funeral. Beth only left to save her son because Kit was blackmailing her but now he has passed, there is nothing to stop her returning to begin the downfall of evil
