THE BBC RADIO 2 STAR TOOK TO SOCIAL MEDIA WITH AN EMOTIONAL REACTION TO A SHOW VERY CLOSE TO HIS HEART 10:24, 02 Jun 2025 Rylan Clark admitted he was 'in bits' as he took to social
media with an emotional reaction to a show very close to his heart. The BBC Radio 2 star recently revealed how he'd spent a year keeping the secret that he'd be making a cameo
appearance in the latest series of Doctor Who. He joined 'Whoniverse' as the popular Sc-Fi series aired a special episode all about the Interstellar Song Contest, which was a fun
take on Eurovision to mark the 69th edition of the Song Contest in May. Rylan played himself as the co-host of the contest but it was revealed that Rylan is frozen in stasis and unfrozen
every year to be the face of the show. The 36-year-old previously said of joining Doctor Who: "As a massive Whovian, I have always loved the show so much. I bumped into Russell at the
Attitude Awards a few years previous, and I was too nervous to say 'Hi.' "Instead, I sent a message to say I wanted to say hello and I’m such a big fan. He replied straightway
saying 'I adore you, I wish you came to say hello'. We stayed in touch, I joked about wanting to be in Doctor Who, he joked that I absolutely should be. Article continues below
"One day I was flying back from Italy from a shoot and my manager said to me, 'Oh, Doctor Who has just come in', in the meantime Russell texted saying 'check your
emails' and I opened my phone. It was the full script and a really full part. I’m not gonna lie, I started crying. It was unreal, I was so delighted." And Rylan has almost proved
he wasn't lying about being a big fan as he took to social media with his reaction to the latest series finale, which aired on Saturday (May 31). Ncuti Gatwa's time on the
long-running science fiction programme came to an end as The Reality War episode brought this season to a close on Saturday. The two-part season finale saw the Doctor face the Rani in a
battle to save the world after making the decision to save the life of one little girl. As he bid farewell to companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, he said: “I hope you’ll see
me again, but not like this.” Billie Piper, who is famed for playing companion Rose Tyler, then later appeared to replace Ncuti, who leaves Doctor Who after two seasons in the role, as she
arrived on screen with the words "Oh, hello!" Article continues below Taking to Instagram with tears streaming down his face after watching the episode, Rylan said: "I'll
probably look back at this with real embarrassment, but I've just watched Doctor Who and I don't know what's just happened. Omg, it's unbelievable. What a turn
out." The TV and radio star also captioned the video to his millions of followers: "To be a part of this season was such an honour, I’m in bits. What an ending." Doctor Who
showrunner Russell T Davies replied: "Oh hello!" with a red heart emoji, while Billie herself commented: "[red heart emojis] u," to which Rylan replied: "u
more."
