THE ACTRESS IS CURRENTLY KNOWN FOR PLAYING CASSIE PLUMMER IN THE ITV SOAP. 19:50, 20 May 2025 Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has revealed the 'fun' time she had as she
ditched the cobbles for filming another famous TV show in Manchester. The actress is currently known for playing Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap. Claire made her debut in the long-running
programme back in 2023 as the long-lost mother of Tyrone Dobbs, and daughter of Evelyn Plummer. The former Brookside actress has since seen her character embroiled in a host of storylines
and after taking up the position of Ken Barlow's (William Roache) carer, it was found that she had been lacing his tea with drugs and spending his money without him realising. At the
end of April, after a brief break away from Weatherfield to mark her 54th birthday, Claire confirmed she was back filming at the Trafford-based set. Taking to Instagram, the soap star shared
a beaming selfie from her dressing room and wrote to her fans and followers: "Good to be back at work @coronationstreet." She also shared the soap photo to her Instagram Story and
reiterated: "Lovely to be back at work today [red heart emoji]." Article continues below Now, Claire has revealed she has been busy doing some filming on another well-known TV
show. Taking to Instagram, she posted a selfie to her Story as she sat on the train: "Heading to Manchester to do Countdown," she revealed. She then later took to her main
Instagram grid with a snap of herself in front of the iconic Countdown clock alongside the show's anchor Colin Murray and said: "Well that was fun! Loved being in dictionary corner
today on Countdown. Thanks for the laughs @mrcolinmurray." Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick was quick to comment as she said: "Love this." And Claire's followers were
delighted with her latest move too. @duaneskelton said: "Ooohhh I'll be watching tnis if Claire is on." @mariah_annie_ replied: "Love this @claire.sweeney."
@brian.okane.980 posted: "Good on you Claire." @wakasham added: "Amazing." It comes after Claire shared how she was 'honoured' to make an unexpected appearance
away from the cobbles with two fellow soap stars. Earlier this month, the soap star was seen performing at the VE Day 80: A Celebration To Remember concert. The event on May 8, held at the
Horse Guards Parade in London, came as the country marked 80 years since the end of World War II was declared in Europe. Hosted by Zoe Ball, the concert aired on BBC One and iPlayer, and was
attended by veterans and the royal family, with King Charles III dellivering a speech at 9pm to echo his grandfather King George VI's historic victory speech eight decades earlier, on
8 May 1945. And Claire was among the performers as she paid her own tribute alongside Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick and EastEnders actress Emma Barton. The trio were seen channelling the
1940s Andrews Sisters, belting out classics like In the Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and Sing, Sing, Sing. Article continues below Following the performance, Claire took to Instagram with
a picture of them dressed perfectly for their tribute and wrote: "What an honour to work with these fabulously fun and talented ladies, and to take part in the VE Day celebrations show
last night on BBC. "A memory I will treasure. To have my son and mum in the audience was the icing on the cake. Love these ladies and proud to pay tribute to our Veterans last night
with @missmichellehardwick @theemmabarton."
