A HAIR EXPERT HAS SHARED THE BEST HIGH-STREET SHAMPOOS TO GROW LONG AN HEALTHY TRESSES - AND THEY WON'T BREAK THE BANK, SO THEY'RE PERFECT IF YOU'RE ON A BUDGET 12:43, 20 May

2025Updated 12:44, 20 May 2025 Looking to grow your hair without splashing out? A haircare expert has revealed the best budget-friendly shampoos for achieving "thicker, longer"

locks. A woman known as Dr Ree Adel insists you don't need to spend a fortune for luscious locks, endorsing "drugstore shampoos for hair growth that ACTUALLY work." With a

plethora of products recommended on social media, it's tricky to discern what will be effective. Dr Ree is keen to share her top picks that promise results without breaking the bank.

She explained: "Do you know how a cup of coffee perks you up in the morning? Shampoos that contain caffeine actually do the same for your hair follicles. "They can assist with hair

loss due to stress and are also beneficial for hormonal hair thinning," she added. Dr Ree suggests starting with Alpecin and Plantur 39 for those seeking a caffeine shampoo that

delivers, noting they're "super affordable." A 250ml bottle of Alpecin will set you back just £6.65 from Boots, where Dr Ree was shopping, and Plantur 39 costs £10.95. Article

fall." However, they caution that "results are anecdotal," reminding that individual experiences may vary. Healthline has stated that while real-world studies about the

effectiveness of caffeine shampoo are "rare," caffeine does indeed have some benefits. These include: suppressing the hormone DHT, which can contribute to hair loss; stimulating

hair growth; encouraging elongation of the hair shaft; and supporting strong, healthy hair growth. Dr Ree also recommended Nizoral, an anti-dandruff shampoo, but she added: "Trust me,

it does way more than that." She explained that the shampoo contains ketoconazole, "which is not only antifungal and anti-inflammatory, but it's also DHT-blocking." This

means that "if you're dealing with androgenic alopecia, aka hormonal hair thinning, then this would definitely be worth trying," according to Dr Ree. A user in the comments

praised Nizoral, saying it made their hair "better, silky and voluminous," calling it their "holy grail" product. WHAT CAUSES HAIR LOSS? It's normal to lose hair. We

can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, often without noticing. Hair loss is not usually anything to worry about, but occasionally it can be a sign of a medical condition, according to the

NHS. Some types of hair loss are permanent, like male and female pattern baldness, which usually runs in families. Other types of hair loss may be temporary. They can be caused by: * an

illness * stress * cancer treatment * weight loss * iron deficiency They advise that you should see a GP if you're concerned about your hair loss. Your GP might be able to determine the

cause of your hair loss by examining your hair. Inform them if your hair loss is impacting your well-being, and inquire about available treatments. Hair loss can be distressing. Article
