TWO MEN IN THEIR EARLY 20S HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AFTER A GROUP WAS SEEN 'RIDING E-BIKES DANGEROUSLY AND BEHAVING ANTI-SOCIALLY' 15:15, 20 May 2025Updated 15:22, 20 May 2025 Two men
have been arrested after a suspected firearm was 'brandished in police officer's face'. Police are in attendance on Great Clowes Street, next to Albert Park, in Broughton this
afternoon (May 20). An area has been taped off and police are monitoring a cordon, eyewitnesses have said forensic officers are also at the scene. A bike has also been seen left on the
ground within the cordon. Greater Manchester Police has now issued a statement saying that a group was seen 'riding e-bikes dangerously and behaving anti-socially'. A statement
from the force reads: "Shortly after 12pm today, an officer on duty in the Broughton area of Salford observed a group riding e-bikes dangerously and behaving anti-socially on Great
Clowes Street. "As the officer approached the group, one of the individuals brandished a suspected firearm in his face. "The officer deployed his Taser, and additional patrols were
immediately dispatched to the scene. "With support from NPAS and armed officers, two men - aged 20 and 21 - were detained on North George Street, Salford. "They were arrested on
suspicion of possessing a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence or to enable another person to do so. Both remain in police custody for questioning.
"An e-bike was recovered on Fenny Street, and a suspected firearm was found on Upper Camp Street. Scenes remain in place, and road closures are ongoing while further enquiries are
conducted. "At this time, we do not believe there is a risk to the wider public." Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles from our Salford district said: “This incident is entirely
unacceptable and highlights how quickly situations faced by our frontline officers can escalate. "Our officers work tirelessly to keep our communities safe and should never be placed in
such danger. “We will always use every resource available to bring those responsible to justice. No one is above the law, and we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour on our streets.”
The force is urging the public to get in touch with any information, saying: "If you have any information, please call police on 0161 856 4477 quoting log 1480 of 20/05/25. Article
