THANKFULLY, THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF SERIOUS INJURIES 09:49, 03 Jun 2025Updated 10:13, 03 Jun 2025 A child has been arrested as part of investigation into a major fire which saw fifty people
evacuated from a block of flats. Emergency services were called to a fire at a block of flats in Marsh House Lane, Warrington at 5.28pm on Monday (June 2). Fifty people were rescued by
firefighters and 14 were assessed by paramedics at the scene, but no one required hospital treatment. Police and the fire service remained at the scene throughout the night as road closures
remained in place in the area. A joint investigation into the cause of the fire has now been launched. Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward. Cheshire Police said that
a child was also arrested as part of the investigation and has since been bailed pending further enquiries. Detective Inspector David Schofield from Cheshire Police said: “I’d like thank
residents for their patience throughout the night while emergency services dealt with the incident. Article continues below “We’re working closely with our partners at Cheshire Fire and
Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire and would urge anyone with any information which may aid our investigation to get in touch.” Anyone with information who has not yet
contacted police should call 101 or go to www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML 2102808. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
In update at 8am this morning (June 3), Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews have remained at the incident overnight, regularly checking the building for hotspots and damping
