A LATE OR CANCELLED BUS CAN CAUSE UNWANTED DISRUPTIONS 11:08, 21 May 2025 The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVLA) has shared important advice for people that use buses. The

government agency is responsible for maintaining records of drivers and vehicles, issuing driving licenses, and collecting vehicle excise duty (VED), among other duties. Their latest advice

is about what you should do if your bus turns up late, or not at all. This can be annoying because it can disrupt plans, cause missed appointments and work commitments. You can report a bus

arriving late, early, not stopping, or not turning up to DVSA if the bus service was in England (outside London) or Wales. You can choose whether or not to give your name and contact details

when you report the problem; some people may prefer to remain anonymous. However, if you remain anonymous, it might make it harder to investigate and take action against the company. If

name and details are provided, the DVSA will be able to contact you for more information about what happened; this could help them to investigate the problem you had According to DVLA, you

need the date and time it happened and the bus or coach service number. Other details you should tell the driving agency includes: * name of the stop where you got on or wanted to get on *

name of the stop where you got off or wanted to get off * name of the company running the bus or coach service (if you know it) The DVLA has raised the issue on social media, a post to X,

formerly known as Twitter, states: "Want to know what to do if your bus turns up late or not at all? "Report them first to your local bus company to give them a chance to put

things right If they don’t, email DVSA and we will investigate – possibly involving Traffic Commissioners." After you report some thing to DVSA, they will review the information they

have received. Then they will decide what to do next. This could include: * asking DVSA examiners to investigate the case * asking you for more information if you did not make the report

anonymously * working with other government departments and agencies or the police Article continues below Gov.uk says for your own safety, you shouldn't tell anyone that you’ve given

the information to DVSA or try to get more information about the offences you’ve reported or about any other criminal activity.
