GREG MONKS WAS ON A STAG DO WHEN HE WENT MISSING 13:53, 04 Jun 2025 A body has been found in the search for a missing man in Portugal, police have said. Greg Monks, 38, disappeared after
becoming separated from his friends during the first evening of their five-day stag do to Portugal last week. He was last seen on CCTV in the residential area of Cerro de Aguia, located
roughly four miles away from the main club and bar strip of Albufeira, on Tuesday, May 27. Searches for him began the next day, with his parents and girlfriend flying out to find any
information they can. Tragically, the Portuguese national Policia Judiciaria confirmed the body of a man was found today, Wednesday, June 4, in the Cerro de Águia area in Albufeira. A
spokesperson for the force said: "The disappearance of the 38-year-old British citizen was reported to the GNR in Albufeira on the 28th, at 8pm by another man who was accompanying him
on holiday in that location." Article continues below Police said the body, which is yet to be formally identified, was located on "vacant and very uneven terrain." The
statement added: "After the competent judicial inspection has been carried out, the body will be removed to the area's Legal Medicine Office for an autopsy to be performed."
Mr Monks, from Glasgow, and his friends had checked into the Novochoro Apartments and headed out to the Albufeira Strip, visiting King's Cross karaoke bar before he became separated
