THE BBC SHOW IS CELEBRATING TWO DECADES ON AIR 22:35, 29 May 2025 Springwatch viewers all said the same thing as they noticed some of Chris Packham's hilarious references. Chris Packham
and Michaela Strachan admired wildlife in the Peak District. They were joined by Iolo Williams reporting from Belfast on the latest episode of the popular BBC programme. The episode took
viewers on a journey through nature as it explored the first arrivals of wildlife this spring in the Peak District. It also featured some memorable clips as the show celebrated its 20th
anniversary, referencing well-known faces including Kate Humble and Bill Oddie. Each night this week, fans have been distracted by Chris' comical puns. The BBC presenter, who has been
part of the show since 2009, managed to cleverly weave in several references to different songs by Oasis, a band made up of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. The band shot to fame in 1991,
and have recently announced they will be touring the UK this year. Some of their top hits include 'Wonderwall', 'Supersonic' and 'Don't Look Back in
Anger'. Earlier in the week, Chris told viewers: "You will want to be here now as we are going to bring you the 'Champagne Supernova' of wildlife TV starting
tonight." Chris' puns continued all the way through the week into Thursday's broadcast. Speaking about a baby chick, he told Michaela: "You wanted it to 'Live
Forever', 'I Don't Look Back in Anger' but I do look back with pragmatism." Article continues below Fans rushed to social media after noticing the references. One
viewer said: "Can't be the only one noticing Chris Packham's love for Oasis on #Springwatch been dropping song titles into his links." A second fan wrote: "Loving
the Oasis songs your chucking into Springwatch", while a third added: "Quite amused by Chris Packham dropping in Oasis song titles into #Springwatch all week. Most of them done
quite smoothly, not sure about the 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' one the other day though." Some eagle-eyed fans noticed that Chris' Oasis references have been strategically
placed to mark Noel Gallagher's birthday (May 29). One fan said: "Chris Packham peppering his Springwatch commentary with Oasis titles on Noel Gallagher's birthday."
Despite most fans enjoying the funny musical references to the BBC show, other viewers were frustrated by the "annoying" habit. One begged: "There really can't be many
Oasis songs left." Article continues below Away from Chris' comical feature, the BBC show introduced a new segment for this series, Springwatch Street. It shares a new insight into
how animals behave in urban settings, including in our own back gardens. On Thursday, viewers were shown some of the "micro-habitats" of a fox within a city. They visited a number
of residents' gardens in Sheffield to monitor its movement and behaviour. It also showed viewers how they can change their own gardens to make them more wildlife-friendly. SPRINGWATCH
