THE AREA IT IS IN WAS RECENTLY NAMED AS ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S BEST PLACES TO INVEST DAN HAYGARTH Liverpool Daily Post Editor and Regeneration Reporter 17:11, 13 May 2025 A new
development of 258 homes on the edge of Liverpool city centre has been completed. The Milliners Yard development has repurposed a former textiles warehouse on London Road, turning it into a
complex of apartments for rent. The development is made up of 144 one-bedroom apartments, 99 two-bedroom apartments and 15 studio apartments. There is access to a communal garden, residents
lounge, co-working space, gym, underground parking and bike store, and 24-hour concierge service as well as a ninth-floor rooftop garden affording panoramic views of Liverpool. The scheme is
a joint venture development by Home Group and Columbia Threadneedle Investments. It was designed by Brock Carmichael Architects and was constructed by UKLP and Equans. Society Studios were
appointed to develop the brand and marketing strategy focused around the sites’ textile heritage. 43% of the apartments have been reserved or occupied. Indea Curtis at Allsop Letting &
Management, which is managing the complex, said: “We are delighted to mark the completion of this important regeneration project in the heart of the Fabric District. "Liverpool’s answer
to London’s Shoreditch has undergone an exciting renaissance and is becoming a popular place to live for young professionals due to its thriving indie arts, social and shopping scene.
"Milliners Yard really embraces that scene with an equally independent lifestyle choice." The area around London Road was recently named as one of the country's best places to
invest by The Times. Fifth on the list of best places to invest is Liverpool's Fabric District - the area between Islington and London Road. The name is a nod to the area’s
longstanding tradition of producing textiles and clothing. The average property price in the area is £166,600. The area has been talked about for years as a hub for regeneration in the city.
London Road itself has changed dramatically over the years as department stores and pubs have closed their doors to be replaced by student accommodation, food stores and takeaways. On the
side streets behind the iconic former TJ Hughes building, independent businesses have opened their doors in the Fabric District. Bars like Round the Corner and gaming hub the Gamers Lodge
have brought a modern, creative vibe to the once-neglected area. According to The Times, the areas making the list are "locations with new transport links, cultural venues and improving
high streets as well as the impact of hardworking communities, and the boost that comes with the arrival of ambitious new residents who may have been priced out of more established
postcodes nearby". _FOR THE LATEST NEWS AND BREAKING NEWS VISIT HTTP://WWW.LIVERPOOLECHO.CO.UK/NEWS/._ _GET ALL THE BIG HEADLINES, PICTURES, ANALYSIS, OPINION AND VIDEO ON THE STORIES
