THE SCOUSE PRESENTER REMAINED IN POSITIVE SPIRITS AS SHE ENDED HER STINT ON BREAKFAST RADIO IN STYLE AND LOOKS FORWARD TO THE NEXT CHAPTER OF HER CAREER 10:49, 05 Jun 2025 Leanne Campbell

remained in positive spirits as she delivered her final message on the radio today. The Scouse presenter has been a staple of Liverpool radio for the past 22 years. Liverpudlians have woken

up to Leanne's voice for the past decade since she took over the Radio City breakfast show. Parent company Bauer Media rebranded Radio City to Hits Radio. The company moved forward with

its decision to replace the regional breakfast show with a national programme today as Leanne hosted her final show. The broadcaster has been joined on the show alongside Joel Ross since

Radio City was merged with Rock FM 18 months ago. The two reflected on their stint as co-hosts in their positive last message. Leanne said: "We've had a ball. We've had great

times. The Blackpool (illuminations) switch-on is a massive highlight. The Divorce Parties. "If I could live those all over again, the whole thing, the build up, listening to the

stories, getting to know everyone and the actual parties as well." Joel admitted it was particularly special to host a show from the iconic St Johns Beacon tower as Leanne explained he

was a "radio geek". The Scouser said the two would remain in close contact as she has a special trip to Cannes to look forward to for a friend's 40th birthday. Article

said: "I'm going to message [Joel] from Cannes. Across the day, but moreso tomorrow and I'll tell him which way it goes. You know what it's like when you're

emotional and you go and have a drink. It's a 40th so we're celebrating. "It could go we have a couple of Cosmos, cry my leg off and be an absolute nuisance, or it could go

the other way. Dancing on tables, swinging on the chandeliers, arrested by 1 o'clock in the morning." Leanne was emotional earlier on in the show when Joel asked if she would like

to send a special thank you to her listeners. The Scouser couldn't hold back the tears but insisted she had said what she wanted in an emotional message on Instagram earlier today. On

air, she said: "I can't speak. It's too emotional. Leave me be. I've already done it. Why did you do that to me? I hope my kids aren't in the car." Leanne was

flooded with support when she sent her Instagram post earlier today reflecting on her 22 years on the radio. She said: "For the last time our 96.7 will broadcast from Liverpool & a

Scouser will sit behind the mic. The things we’ve been through together! "22 years of life on the radio with you all is what I’ll cherish my whole life. Thank you. How lucky am I to

have had you lot to talk to.It’s the end of our amazing adventure. Completed it mate." Followers took to the comments during the show and said the radio won't be the same without

Leanne as they wished her luck in the next chapter of her career. Sarah said: "Have the best morning Leanne we are all behind you and can’t wait to see what’s coming next." Becky

added: "Will miss you in a mornings Leanne. Good luck for the future." Doris commented: "Have a belter of a last one. You’re gonna be all good Leanne onto bigger & better

things . Queen of the city." Lynne said: "Still can’t believe it. I won’t be listening no more. Good luck in all you do lovely." Beverley posted: "Will miss listening to

you Leanne, but know you’ll go onto bigger and better things! I’ll not be listening again! Have the best last day xxxx." Gabrielle commented: "End of an era but the start of an

even better one." Lesley posted: "First day of the next chapter." Dolly added: "Love you lots, you have achieved so much, should be so proud of yourself." Leanne

reflected on the decision from Bauer Media earlier this year on her Ladies of Liverpool Facebook page. She said: "Our show will be replaced by a national show. "To every single one

of you who has woken up with me in Liverpool for over 22 years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has been the greatest privilege to be part of your mornings, to share the laughter,

the stories, our lives and all the moments that have made this job so special THANK YOU!" Article continues below
