in court. Kevin Spaine has been charged with murdering Leroy Venner, who was found dead at a flat on Belmont Drive in Anfield on Wednesday, July 27 this year. Emergency services were called

to the scene around 3pm and discovered the 53-year-old, from Toxteth, had suffered head injuries. He was rushed to hospital, but later pronounced dead. Spaine, of no fixed address, was

The 43-year-old spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth and was not asked to enter a plea to the court. He will next appear in court on November 17, with a trial lasting up to seven

days scheduled for February 13 2023. Spaine, who wore a prison issue grey jumper, was remanded into custody. A 60-year-old man who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder remains on
