Everton 'working with police' after sandra calvert-lewin reports threats

Calvert-Lewin’s wife said she had received “nasty, abusive comments”. The striker came on for Everton in the 75th minute for Iliman Ndiaye during the final-ever game for the men's team

at Goodison Park on Sunday. Calvert-Lewin's wife, Sandra, who is a model, reflected on her husband’s achievements in a series of messages on Instagram yesterday. She shared a post to

her story that showed that her husband had scored the third most goals for Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League. Sandra said: “30 goals at Goodison. Top three ever. They might not

shout about it - but we’re proud every single day.” She then posted a lengthier message on her Instagram story that praised her husband’s resilience. Sandra said: “I’ve seen the unseen

moments - the recovery, the doubt, the strength it took to keep going. The world saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin the footballer. I see the man I love. And I’m endlessly proud of both.” However,

Sandra has also shared a series of abusive messages from Everton supporters, including some threatening to kill her and her baby. Sandra called out the messages directly and said she was

reporting them to the authorities. In one of her messages, Sandra said: “I can take it - but the number of footballers’ wives I know who won’t even leave the house because of people like

this is honestly heartbreaking.” Article continues below In another message, Sandra thanked other Blues who had supported her during this time. She said: “To the real Evertonians - thank you

so much. We love you! Every nasty, abusive comment from internet trolls will be forwarded to the police and the club.” A statement from the club said: "Everton Football Club strongly

condemns the threatening, racist, and misogynistic abuse directed towards the wife of Dominic Calvert-Lewin on social media. "This sinister and intimidating behaviour is not only deeply

hurtful and distressing, it is also criminal — and does not represent the values of Everton or the overwhelming majority of our supporters. "The club has a zero-tolerance policy

towards all forms of discriminatory and abusive behaviour. We are working closely with Merseyside Police and the Premier League to ensure the individuals responsible are identified and held

accountable for their actions. "Threats or abuse of any kind — whether online or in person — are completely unacceptable and have no place in our game or in society. The club urges

anyone who sees or experiences such behaviour to report it to the authorities and relevant social media platforms immediately. We will continue to offer our full support to Dominic and his

family." Calvert-Lewin posted an emotional tribute to Goodison Park on his Instagram page after the final game, with pictures of him celebrating after his goal against Crystal Palace

and an old one of him in the dressing room after winning man of the match. He said: “The first picture - by far my most emotional night at Goodison (Palace game), the second picture is just

one from the archives and one of many. “To be the last player to wear the number nine shirt at Goodison after so many greats before me is something that I’ll forever cherish, a pressure and

a privilege. Memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Goodison Park.” Sandra left a comment on the post that said: “You wore it with pride. You lived it with heart. Forever proud of
