Patrols find just one driver speeding on busy leicestershire road

Just one car was caught speeding following hundreds of checks along a busy Leicestershire road. Reports had suggested many drivers were not following the 40mph limit, but the majority seen

by police did. Officers from Leicestershire Police revealed the findings of their speed deterrent patrols and speeding operations from work in Charnwood this week. One road being kept a

close eye on was Nanpantan Road, near Loughborough. Reports to police had suggested that cars were coming into the 40mph zone along Nanpantan Road from a national speed limit zone without

adjusting their speed. Patrols carried out on Thursday (May 29) saw officers check the speed of just under 200 cars, but the results were not quite as reported. A spokesperson for the force

said: "The results with the speed gun show that with just under 200 cars recorded only one car did not manage to comply with the speed limit." READ MORE:Man suffers 'neck

injury and whiplash' after Leicester bollards lifted his car Charnwood Police said they also carried out the same operations on Belvoir Drive and Epinal Way, both of which saw no

motorists breaking speed limits. More checks were carried out on the same day in Main Street in South Croxton and Main Street in Queniborough. The locations were highlighted by residents but
