Drivers are being warned that one of the major routes through Leicestershire is set to be interrupted by two months' worth of roadworks. National Highways have warned of diversions and
potential disruption. The work, which begins later this month, will stretch Junction 14 of the A42 to Junction 23A of the M1 at Castle Donington's Donington Services. The A42 and slip
roads will be closed while the work is carried out, while lanes on the M1 and A453 will also be closed. The work is due to be completed by the end of April. National Highways said the work
involve "essential electrical works". This will see National Highways teams replace street lights, signs, feeder pillars, cables, ducting, road crossing, and cables, and removing
overgrown vegetation. READ MORE: Police issue Spice Girls-themed warning amid school parking crackdown The closures, which will begin on Wednesday, February 26, will be in place between 9pm
