_This article was originally on a blog post platform and may be missing photos, graphics or links. See About archive blog posts._ Authorities say two suspects wanted in connection with the
shooting of a Fullerton police officer early Sunday have been taken into custody. Police have arrested Marcos Bush, 29, of Santa Ana on suspicion of attempted murder. Authorities say Bush
has a lengthy arrest record that includes robbery, aggravated assault and carjacking and is an active member of a gang. Police also arrested 27-year-old Sjanee Duhart of Riverside on
suspicion of being an accessory to the attempted murder. ‘The speed in which the suspect was identified and captured is a testament to the commitment and exemplary work by Fullerton
officers, as well as the many other law enforcement agencies assisting in this investigation,’ said Fullerton Police Chief Dan Hughes. The shooting occurred when the two suspects were pulled
over in a dark-colored, four-door Pontiac about 12:13 a.m. near the cross streets of Woods and Knepp avenues, Fullerton Police Lt. Michael Chlebowski said. As the male officer approached
the vehicle, the driver fired a handgun, striking the officer multiple times, Chlebowski said. The officer, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, managed to return fire, but it was not known
if he struck either of the two occupants. The officer was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition. He has been with the department for seven years. After issuing a ‘blue alert,’
authorities found the suspects’ car in Riverside and arrested Duhart, police said. Investigators then developed leads that took them to a home in the 3500 block of Cornelia Circle in
Anaheim. Police tried to speak to a man at the house, but he fled on foot. During the short foot chase, police said, the man was observed reaching into his waistband and discarding a
semiautomatic handgun. After his arrest, authorities said they recovered the weapon, and forensics tests are pending to determine if it is the handgun used against the officer. Anyone with
information about the incident, including the other occupants of the suspect vehicle, is asked to contact the Fullerton Police Department at (714) 738-6838. ALSO: FULL COVERAGE: 28th Los
