Fred and rose west's forgotten home that's still standing today

A chilling documentary on serial killers Fred and Rose West has been the latest binge-watch for Netflix subscribers, featuring previously unseen footage of the couple as well as disturbing

police recordings. The three-part series landed on the streaming platform last week (May 14) and at time of writing is the streamer's most popular TV programme in the UK. It includes

chilling confessions by Fred West, as well as interviews with the families of the couple's victims. The documentary begins as Fred West is questioned about the disappearance of his

daughter, Heather West. Her body was found under the patio at the family home after the couple's other children had mentioned their sister was buried in the garden, drawing the

attention of social services. However, Heather's wasn't the only body to be found at 25 Cromwell Street. There were the remains of nine women in total discovered at the Gloucester

property, bringing to light the extent of the couple's two-decades-long crime spree in which they tortured, raped and murdered their victims. Rose West is currently serving a life

sentence having been found guilty of murdering 10 people including her own daughter Heather, and stepdaughter Charmaine. Fred West, who confessed to at least 12 murders, took his own life

before his trial in 1995. Two years after the arrest of the serial killer couple, their Cromwell Street home - dubbed the House of Horrors - was demolished to prevent it from becoming a

macabre tourist attraction. Debris from the property was also incinerated so nobody could keep a memento. However, before the couple moved to the Gloucester street, they had previously

occupied another property. The pair used to live on Midland Road, also in Gloucester, and it is here they began their killing spree. As mentioned in the documentary, a property on Midland

Road was where the body of Fred's daughter Charmaine was hidden. The pair are believed to have killed at least three women there before they moved. Unlike Cromwell Street, this property

is still standing today. The Victorian home has been converted into three one-bedroom flats. According to property site Zoopla, the home sold for £57,750 back in 2000 in an auction that

attracted around 90 buyers. One potential buyer at the time told the BBC: "Of course I know about its history. It is a sound investment and the history did not put me off. "It made
