BBC iPlayer fans have just a week left to watch a popular drama that’s been likened as a “mash-up” of Gossip Girl, Sex And The City and Devil Wears Prada. Freeform drama The Bold Type, which
made its debut back in 2017, follows the lives of friends Jane (played by Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee) and Sutton (Meghann Fahy) who work for the prestigious women’s magazine Scarlet.
Throughout its five-season run, the series revolved around the different professional challenges they faced, turbulent times in their friendships as well as their pursuits for romance.
Inspired by the life of former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles, who was also an executive producer on the drama, The Bold Type has been ready to watch in full since 2023 on BBC
iPlayer. Sadly, the streamer has now announced that the series will be axed from its extensive library and fans don’t have a lot of time left to watch. All five seasons of The Bold Type are
going to be leaving BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, 11th June. So fans only have the next week if they want to catch up on the fan-favourite series which came to an end on Freeform four years ago.
Taking to platforms like IMDb, fans have shared their thoughts on The Bold Type with one labelling it as “addictive”. They continued: “This show is the perfect mash-up of all the good
things from The Devil Wears Prada, Gossip Girl and Sex and the City.” A second shared that it was a “sweet, funny progressive show”, while another commented that it was their “favourite
show”. “Positive, inspiring and fresh”, someone else wrote, adding: “It’s rare that you see positive female friendships on TV and that is what makes this show so special.” Fans may also
recognise the cast from various other projects including Kat star Aisha Dee from Netflix’s Apple Cider Vinegar and Sloan actress Katie Stevens from previously coming in eighth place in
American Idol season nine. The most recognisable of the trio though is actress Meghann Fahy who plays Sutton, having moved on to Daphne Sullivan in The White Lotus season two. She has since
starred in the horror film Drop with It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar and Netflix’s Sirens with Julianne Moore and House of the Dragons’ Milly Alcock. Unfortunately, there is nowhere
else to watch The Bold Type in full in the UK once it leaves iPlayer Alternatively, individual episodes and seasons can be purchased via Apple TV and Prime Video. _THE BOLD TYPE IS AVAILABLE
TO WATCH UNTIL WEDNESDAY, 11TH JUNE, ON BBC IPLAYER._
