John Chapel (Timothy Spall). In the initial scenes of the programme, John's neighbour is shockingly murdered, prompting him to join forces with DS Janie Mallowan (Gwyneth Keyworth) to

uncover the killer's identity. The unlikely crime-solving duo get to the bottom of gripping murders each week, with various stunning Welsh locations providing the backdrop to their

investigations. In tonight's episode, Janie received a call from her mother, Yvonne, who was out with her walking group, reports the Express. Yvonne disclosed that Karen, a new member

of the group, had been discovered dead on a Welsh mountain trail. To identify the murderer, a determined Janie persuaded John to join the group, hoping to benefit from his insights. However,

viewers found themselves sidetracked upon recognising Gavin and Stacey actress Melanie Walters in the role of Yvonne. Melanie is most famous for her portrayal of Gwen West in the popular

BBC sitcom. Melanie wasn't the only Gavin and Stacey cast member to feature in the latest episode of Death Valley, as Steffan Rhodri, known for his role as Dave Coaches, played
