Devotees of the film will be disheartened to discover that it's bidding farewell to the BBC, with only a few days remaining to enjoy this 'perfect' feel-good flick. Paddington

2 is the successful sequel to the original Paddington movie, inspired by the beloved British bear who made his debut in a children's book back in 1958. The charming bear's legacy

continues in this contemporary adaptation, and the second film boasts an impressive score of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. The plot follows Paddington, now happily integrated into his adoring

family and an integral part of the community, as he saves up for a special gift for Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday. However, before he can buy the cherished book, it's stolen and

Paddington is wrongfully accused of the theft. Subsequently sent to prison under false charges, Paddington's inherent kindness manages to touch even the toughest inmates. Now, along

with his family, the Browns, they're on a quest to identify the true thief and vindicate Paddington. The film's appeal is further enhanced by its stellar cast of renowned British

actors, including Hugh Grant as Phoenix Buchanan; Hugh Bonneville as Henry Brown and Sally Hawkins as Mrs Brown. Audiences have lauded the performances for their quick wit and

family-friendly charm, reports the Daily Record. One review says: "Paddington 2 is a spectacular film, full of whimsy and delight. The visual gags provided by Paul King are amazing and

very creative. Hugh Grant is electric in his role, and Sally Hawkins provides a great warmth and heart to the film." Meanwhile, another writes: "one of the best movies I've

ever seen. I recommend it to anyone. It's really kid-friendly. The actors are really great, and the plot is just 10 out of 10." Following the box office success and BAFTA

nominations of the first Paddington film, which featured Nicole Kidman, expectations were sky-high for its sequel. According to fans, it certainly lived up to the hype. One viewer said:

"Paddington 2 surpasses its predecessor while maintaining its original context but expanding the narrative into a more adventurous and life-enriching experience." The film is

lauded for enhancing the essence of the Paddington tales with valuable lessons. It's described as a rare gem of a family movie that is worthy of Oscar attention, with one comment

saying: "These lessons continue to elevate the core of the Paddington stories. In a rare occurrence, a golden family film that merits Oscar recognition is seldom seen, Paddington 2

undoubtedly deserves this recognition for its solid family-friendly qualities. ". A devoted fan of Paddington hailed the sequel as a "cinematic masterpiece", leaving the

cinema "absolute tears". Fast forward a few years from its 2017 debut, and the third instalment, Paddington in Peru, graced cinemas in 2024. For those wanting to catch Paddington 2

before it leaves BBC on June 10, it's currently available to watch for free on BBC iPlayer.
