A talented singer is continuing to make serious waves on the music scene after wrapping up a European tour with Stereophonics. Former Middlesbrough College student Finn Forster was the main

support for the Welsh rockers, marking the Nunthorpe singer's first time performing in arenas and major venues across the continent. It came after frontman Kelly Jones discovered Finn’s

music online and personally invited him to join the tour. Posting on Facebook, Finn said: "This whole experience has been the most inspiring and incredible time in my career so far.

Thanks to the band and their entire team for being nothing short of amazing and making me, my band and my team feel so welcome and looked after. "I've gone from being a huge fan

and an artist who takes so much influence from this band to being able to share the stage with them on this tour. I'll never take it for granted. "I'm so grateful to have been

a part of it. The opportunity to play and meet so many new people in so many new places has been incredible." After completing his performing arts musical theatre course at

Middlesbrough College, Finn went on to train at the prestigious London School of Musical Theatre, before signing with industry leaders Narrow Road. His success in musical theatre include

credits such as The Band (Let It Shine Workshop), Jason & The Argonauts and Into The Woods. Known for his distinctive sound and heartfelt songwriting, Finn began releasing his own music

in 2020. The former NHS worker at James Cook University Hospital released his first single in September 2023 and finished off a sell-out tour with a gig at Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt.

Last summer he was signed to Interval Records (EMI North) as their first official artist. His debut EP ‘Embers’ has just been released ahead of a packed festival season which will include

gigs at Latitude, Truck, Y Not and a main stage slot at Kendal Calling. Finn, 28, said his education at Middlesbrough College had a huge influence on his path to success. "My time at

Middlesbrough College gave me the perfect intro into life as a professional performer," he said. "The performing arts faculty are an asset to the course and it gave me the skills

and confidence to head out into the industry with a real ‘sky is the limit’ mindset.” Finn grew up in a musical family and was the third generation of their Irish folk band. His first takes

to the stage were joining in at some of his family’s gigs at local folk clubs and as he got older he started writing songs himself. Middlesbrough College continues to champion Finn as an

ambassador for its performing arts department, with Finn regularly returning to take part in Industry Week and mentor the next generation of Teesside talent. Steven Pollard, lecturer for

performing arts, said: "Finn’s journey is a brilliant example of where passion, commitment and training can take you. "Watching him grow from a dedicated student into a

professional artist performing on Europe’s biggest stages is nothing short of inspiring. He embodies the spirit of what we strive for in the performing arts department – nurturing

creativity, resilience and ambition. "We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in his story and it’s a real privilege to welcome him back to support and inspire the next generation

of Teesside talent." FOR BREAKING NEWS IN YOUR AREA DIRECT TO YOUR INBOX EVERY DAY, GO HERE TO SIGN UP TO OUR FREE NEWSLETTER JOIN TEESSIDE LIVE'S WHATSAPP COMMUNITY FOR TOP
