A popular Teesside venue will be welcoming its latest addition this weekend and 24in pizzas are on the menu. Play, a venue created from a converted brewery taproom, is welcoming a new

company, Slice, which will take over the bar's current pizza place, Lucky Teds. Aaron Lythe, who took over as the owner of the Cannon Park Way venue - previously called Play Brew, said:

"We're proud to welcome Slice to the Play family and we're very excited to grow together." Slice, which had made a name for itself with locations in both Seaham and

Sunderland, will be keeping the Lucky Teds formula, including its team, but building on it, serving 24in pizzas, pizza by the slice, chicken wings and loaded fries. There will be a launch of

Slice on Saturday, June 7, where all pizza slices will be £2.50 for that day only, from 2pm to 11pm. As part of the launch there will be games and a DJ from 6pm, with kids and dogs welcome.

Play Brew was set up five years ago brewing craft beer from the premises. Although Play no longer brews from the premises there are still craft beers on offer. Aaron said: "Since the

takeover of the venue in March, Play has continued to build, introducing a new menu with everything from craft beer to cocktails, non alcoholic options including a 0% draught lager and

gluten free beers." It is continuing as an event space, carrying on hosting weekly quiz nights, monthly music bingo nights and a monthly book club. It also hosts music gigs, movie

screenings and parties. Arcade games have been installed into the venue and there will also be a pool table in place by the time of the launch this weekend. FOR TEESSIDE UPDATES AND BREAKING
