Revenue Department has significantly eased the process of updating land ownership records for farmers. As a result, inheritance entries on more than five lakh property records have been

completed across the state, marking a remarkable achievement in the department's history. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has set an ambitious target to update around 22 lakh

property records. The department is working tirelessly to remove unnecessary and outdated entries. The second phase of the campaign began on Maharashtra Day (May 1, 2025), aiming to make

property records more streamlined and transparent. The campaign focuses on removing the names of deceased landowners and registering their legal heirs. In approximately 45,000 villages

across the state, at least 50 property records per village will be updated. This task is being executed by Talathis and Mandal Officers using the e-Ferfar system. Additionally, outdated

records such as ‘Apak Shera’, ‘Ekum Entry’, ‘Tagai Loan’, ‘Land Improvement Loan’, and ‘Pokalist’ are being removed. Updates are also being made to land acquisition decisions,

non-agricultural orders, substandard land transformation, and cemetery entries. After successful implementation in Buldhana and Akola, the campaign is now being conducted across the entire

state. Farmers are required to submit death certificates, Aadhaar cards, and heirship certificates. The updated records can be downloaded from the Bhulekh (land) portal. Digital technology

has made this process more efficient, and the campaign is expected to bring a positive change in the lives of farmers. REDUCING LAND DISPUTES AND SIMPLIFYING TRANSACTIONS The campaign aims

to reduce the difficulties faced by farmers during land transactions, loans, land improvement compensation, and similar processes. With accurate data for government schemes, disputes over

land ownership will decrease, freeing farmers from lengthy legal processes. "We are committed to reducing farmers' struggles related to land ownership disputes. This campaign will

bring transparency and efficiency to the process," said Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Revenue Minister, Maharashtra.
