The enormous vessel cost a staggering £600m to build over three years.  Norwegian Joy has departed from its shipping yard in Germany, boasting 20 decks, 20 restaurants and waterslides.  But

its most defining feature is right on top - the racing track is the first of its kind in the world.  The impressive two-tiered fit out can hold up to 10 cars on the race track at a time,

which can get up to speeds of 40mph.  Drivers will be treated to ocean views as they drag around the winding strip.  The pioneering design will undergo thorough testing at sea before opening

up to passengers when the ship sets sail during summer.  Norwegian Joy is the first in Norwegian’s fleet to specifically target the Chinese market. Its home ports are based in Shanghai and

Beijing.  Drone footage has captured the sheer size of the monstrous ship, with the centrepiece race track impossible to miss.  There are also several waterslides spouting from the top of

the liner.  Norwegian Joy holds up to 3,850 passengers and spans 1,070ft in length.  Other features of the radical ship include an open-air laser tag course and a virtual reality pavilion

with hovercraft bumper car simulators.  It’s the 15th cruise in Norwegian Cruise Line’s impressive fleet.
