A driver was provided with a very unexpected hazard on a highway in New York. From the dashboard the camera was rolling while the car was travelling along Sunrise Highway in Long Island,
US. From overhead a light plane had begun descending, headed straight for the road. The Cessna managed to touch down in one of the two lanes, just in front of the moving car. It then
veered off to an exit on the right, before a police car travelling behind it lit its sirens and pulled over to help. The plane had taken off from nearby Brookhaven Airport before suffering
a mechanical failure. Police said the pilot managed to fly in over a street sign and under an overpass before somehow landing the plane safely. The incident unfolded last Wednesday early
in the afternoon, thankfully outside of rush hour. Video of the emergency landing has gone viral since it was shared online. Uploaded to YouTube, the clip has been seen over 685,000 times
and received hundreds of comments. One user wrote: “Incredible piloting. I salute that pilot! Phenomenal work.” Another shared: “Awesome...give that pilot a medal.”
