The UK government has unveiled a new set of travel advice guidelines to help Britons prepare for changes following the end of the Brexit transition period. Due to make its EU departure at
the ends of December 2020, the UK will see some updated travel measures which could impact Britons passports, data roaming, and those hoping to holiday with their pets in tow. As part of
its new campaign "The UK’s new start: let’s get going" the Government will be showing adverts on television, radio, and online, as well as updating citizens via text message with
some of the key changes ahead. Holidaymakers are now being told to check their passport is valid for the required period, ensure they have an adequate travel insurance policy, and make sure
they understand their phone provider's overseas data policy. Additionally, those who are traveling with pets should contact their vet at least four months before their departure date.

roaming, and there are all sorts of issues around taking your pet abroad. There's a whole load of criteria we will have to meet." The Brexit transition period has lasted for one
year and saw few changes for Britons in this time, but Mr Smith warns the changes are fast approaching. "I guess the issue for us is that we've been in the transition period for
almost a year," he said. "People have forgotten how actually the big change...is coming up at the end of the year when, if you want to travel to the EU then you are going to have
to get organised and you are probably going to have to fork out some money too." The new Government campaign will lead with the slogan “Check, Change, Go” to remind Britons of the key
steps they need to take before they jet off. Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove said: "At the end of this year we are leaving the single market and customs union regardless of the
type of agreement we reach with the EU. This will bring changes and significant opportunities for which we all need to prepare. "While we have already made great progress in getting
ready for this moment, there are actions that businesses and citizens must take now to ensure we are ready to hit the ground running as a fully independent United Kingdom." "This
is a new start for everyone in the UK – British and European citizens alike – so let’s get going." The changes will come into play from January 1 2021. Britons hoping to travel in the
coming months are also being advised to follow guidelines relating to the coronavirus pandemic. Depending on their destination, some Britons my have t fill out specific health forms or take
a mandatory test. Airlines and airports are also requesting the wearing of face masks at all times and the use of hand sanitiser.
