Roger federer reveals casper ruud problem just hours before clash

Federer is set to meet Ruud for the first time in his career and he spent yesterday researching how the 20-year-old plays. However, the Swiss star claims he has not been able to do enough

preparation ahead of the clash. Still, Federer will be the heavy favourite to progress to the fourth round. But he is wary of taking on the young Norwegian. "He is young, hungry,

nothing to lose, but had to win six sets to reach the third round,” Federer told Eurosport while getting ready to face Ruud. "I don't know enough about him. “When I'm home, I

don't watch much tennis. “I watched some points here and there.” Ruud’s father, Christian, competed at the French Open in 1999 when Federer made his debut. But the pair never got to

meet on the famous Roland Garros courts. “Well, I mean, my father retired when he was pretty young,” Casper Ruud said. “He [my dad] was around 30 years old. So, you know, Roger was just

coming up, I think, a little bit. “He was around 18, 19 I think when my father kind of stopped. “So I think they practiced together once, he told me, but never played him. “I will be the

first Ruud to say that I was able to play him, so that bit’s funny. “But ever since I can remember I’ve been watching Roger on TV. So of course he has had an amazing career and the most

winning player ever.”
